Founded by Dimitri Chrysostomou, Hapax Orchestra is based in London and made up of the most promising musicians from Universities and Conservatoire, Music graduates and early career musicians. We aim to not only perform the greatest pieces from the repertoire, but to reach new audiences with exciting cross-discipline projects.

What's in a name?
"Hapax Legomenon" is a literary term used to describe a word or expression that appears only once within a context: for example in the complete works of an author or in a single piece.

In a musical sense, we believe this converts rather well to describe the works of great composers.
